Manitoba Underground Opera creates original productions of classic operas with a modern perspective. Our shows are immersive theatrical experiences that bring you up close and personal with some of Canada’s most talented performers. Placing the heightened drama of opera alongside contemporary social commentary, these productions come to life in iconic venues like the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and La Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface. We seek to advance the public's appreciation of the arts by providing high quality public performances of operatic works and free performances for audiences that may not be able to attend regular performances.

Manitoba Underground Opera was founded on Treaty 1 land, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. These lands are the traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, and Nakota Nations. In addition, our tours extend throughout the province of Manitoba, also encompassing Treaties 2, 3, 4, and 5.
