***New performance added on May 26!***
Join us for the world premiere of The Mansplaining Division, a new opera written by local artists Laura Gow and Karen Remoto. Equal parts Greek Mythology, The Good Place, and modern feminist discourse, this show utilizes dark satire to skewer modern-day sexism.
John Woe Is Me is a guy who believes it's really important to let everyone know that “not all men” are bad. His odious opinions attract the attention of Tish, Meg, and Alex, employees of the Underworld Department of Crimes against Women: Mansplaining Division. They are on a mission to educate humans, particularly human men, about feminist issues, and John is their newest target. At the administrative offices of the Underworld, they carry out their immersive learning program: a series of trials that force John to experience some of the things women live through every day. Will he get the hint and evolve into an ally? Join us at Pyramid Cabaret to enjoy a drink and find out.
