Don Giovanni

Part operatic spectacle. Part gala celebration. All MUO.

Manitoba Underground Opera presents an exciting new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, staged in the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Follow the unrepentant title character’s shameless exploits throughout the WAG, culminating in his dramatic comeuppance. The combination of Mozart's stunning music paired with one of Winnipeg's most uniquely beautiful landmarks makes this show a must-see.

The production, headed by Winnipeg director Jacqueline Loewen and American conductor Dr. Alexandra Dee, will feature a cross-Canadian collective of talented artists, complete with chamber orchestra and chorus. Presented through the lens of an all-female creative team, MUO re-imagines Don Giovanni as a fable for the #metoo era. And unlike too many of his real-world counterparts, Don Giovanni's misdeeds result in his irreversible downfall.

Sung in Italian with English Dialogue

Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
