Performed outdoors at the St. Boniface Cathedral, Castor et Pollux will take place August 22-25. The breathtaking 200-foot tall façade and sweet summer breeze will serve as a backdrop to the epic tale of Castor and Pollux: twins who are separated in battle before being transformed into stars in the sky. Keeping with MUO's tradition of breaking boundaries, the heroic twins, originally written as male, will be played by Nikita Labdon and Paulina Gonzalez.
Castor and Pollux are twins who will not let anything come between them, even the fact that Castor is mortal and Pollux is half-god. When Castor falls in battle, Pollux embarks on a journey to the underworld to rescue his beloved sibling. The already breathtaking St. Boniface Cathedral will be transformed by state-of-the-art projections, fully immersing you in the twins' journey from death to immortality in the stars. Winnipeg's incomparable summer evening atmosphere serves as the perfect backdrop to this epic tale of sacrifice, bravery, and familial love.
